Becky Rim

When Becky was young, she thought drums were a boy's instrument even though she always wanted to play.  There were few female drummers at the time and her earliest influence was Melody from Josie and the Pussycats.  After a boyfriend heard her mention this, he got her a used kit and she began playing.  Some of her main influences were The Ramones, early Genesis, 70's dance music and the punk bands she saw at CBGBs; Sex In Miami and Hagatha (with drummer Kate Shellenback).  Between working as a Special Ed. teacher and raising her kids, she played with the dance band In The Groove for over 10 years performing at BB Kings, corporate and private parties, and local bars and restaurants all over Long Island and Queens.  She now loves making music with her brothers and sisters in Tribe.
