Bill's exposure to music started early. In grammar school he took up the clarinet, taking lessons and playing in the band all through high school. Having listened to pop music all through those school years, his interest gravitated toward rock, especially after seeing bands play at local parties and dances. When he figured out the melody to Purple Haze on the clarinet he knew the instrument for him was the guitar! Soon he acquired one, and now he has been playing for 50 years! He is well versed in the styles of rock and roll, classic rock, rockabilly, blues, country, and folk music. In the last five years he has become increasingly more active in the music scene, playing in clubs throughout Long Island and the tri-state area. Bands he has performed with are: Special Ryder, The Southshore Rockers, Cobrasnake Necktie, 15th Century Moxie, The RElics, Nina Gordon, Debra Lynne, Cyndy Hazel, Lucy Gordon, The Turntables, Fresh Cut, The Stingrays, Ruby, and Locals Rule. He currently runs a weekly open jam at The Sunset Grill, and is pleased to be a guitar player for Tribe!
